The Irish Computer Society (ICS) and Association of Data Protection Officers (ADPO) are delighted to announce the adoption of Brendan Quinn’s “Data Protection Implementation Guide: A Legal, Risk and Technology Framework for the GDPR” as the principal reference text for our highly anticipated Certified Data Protection Delivery (CPDD) course launching in 2025.
This comprehensive guide, which provides a practical, project management approach to GDPR implementation, will form the cornerstone of the certification program, offering participants a robust framework for navigating the complexities of modern data protection challenges.
“Brendan Quinn’s work represents the perfect blend of legal expertise and practical implementation that our members need,” said Tiziana Margaria, President of the Irish Computer Society. “By incorporating this authoritative text into our CPDD certification, we’re ensuring our graduates are equipped with the most current and practical knowledge in data protection implementation.”
The guide’s inclusion in the CPDD curriculum particularly strengthens the course’s focus on:
- Risk assessment methodologies
- Practical implementation strategies
- Case law analysis and application
- Emerging technology considerations
- International data transfer solutions
“This partnership between academic excellence and professional certification demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in data protection education,” said Paula Carney-Hoffler, Chairperson of the ADPO Training Committee. “Quinn’s guide provides the perfect blueprint for professionals tasked with implementing GDPR-compliant systems in an ever-evolving digital landscape.”
The CPDD course, launching in early 2025, will be available to all data protection professionals looking to enhance their practical implementation skills. Early registration will open in December 2024.
