itSMF Ireland – Who We Are and What We Do

As an affiliated body of itSMF International, a global membership organisation of IT Service Management practitioners dedicated to advancing best practice in IT Service Management, itSMF Ireland serves as the leading association for service management professionals in the country. Its diverse membership spans independent consultants, SMEs, and major multinational enterprises.

As organisations increasingly use and integrate technology to design, build, deliver, and support their products and services, the adoption of best practice IT Service Management is essential to support and enable their business with agile, modern, integrated solutions and cost effective ICT delivery, support and governance. itSMF Ireland provides a forum through which members can exchange views, share experiences, and contribute to the ongoing development and promotion of best practice and standards in IT Service Management. This is achieved through a range of services designed to deliver significant value to their organisations.

Together with its international counterparts, itSMF Ireland equips its members with access to industry experts, knowledge, resources, and skills required to strengthen their service management capabilities and improve business outcomes. Globally, itSMF comprises more than 6,000 member organisations, representing over 40,000 individuals worldwide.

To fulfil its mission, itSMF Ireland is committed to:

· Establishing and maintaining a broad and inclusive membership base representing the full spectrum of IT and business interests.

· Representing the interests and perspectives of its members at national and international levels.

· Providing a forum that brings together users, suppliers, and other stakeholders of IT services and products.

· Supporting, influencing, and, where appropriate, developing and publishing best practice standards and guidelines for IT Service Management, including ITIL and national/international standards such as ISO/IEC 20000.

· Raising professional standards across the industry by promoting globally recognised qualifications and supporting the Institute of Service Management for registered practitioners.

· Developing an expanding portfolio of services that deliver tangible benefits to members.

· Recognising and rewarding individuals and organisations that make significant contributions to the advancement of best practice, standards, and professionalism in IT Service Management.

· Maintaining financial sustainability.

· Increasing general awareness and understanding of IT Service Management.
