Dear Members,

It is with immense pride and gratitude that I write to you as the newly appointed President of the ICS. Stepping into this role is both a privilege and a responsibility, and I hold within me a deep respect for the legacy and future of our society.

Earlier this month, I had the honour of attending my first Fellows Lunch as President it was a fantastic event. Having the opportunity to stand before such greatness, leaders in our various disciplines and long-standing supporters of the ICS, was profoundly humbling. The Fellows have always been, and will continue to be, the backbone of our society, alongside our vibrant membership. Their wisdom, dedication, and enduring commitment are the pillars upon which we build our future.

I would also like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome our newly appointed board members, Aileen Wynne, Maria Moloney, Kevin McLaughlin and Kieran Harte. Each brings fresh energy and valuable perspectives to our leadership team. Alongside them, our existing board members, Clare Harney, John Ward, Mary Cleary and Tiziana Margaria continue to offer significant expertise and deep knowledge in their respective fields an asset that strengthens our collective vision and decision-making.

As we look ahead, I’m excited to share that we’ll soon be reaching out to our membership to invite expressions of interest in joining additional special interest and working groups. These initiatives are part of our broader strategy to expand the reach and impact of the ICS, and we warmly encourage you to get involved. Your voice, expertise, and enthusiasm are vital as we shape the next chapter of our journey together.

Finally, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our former President Tiziana Margaria and the recently retired directors, Declan Brady, Fintan Swanton, Mary Sharpe and Kevin Thomas. Their leadership and foresight laid the foundation for the journey we now continue toward a future that honours our past while embracing innovation and growth.
