Hiring levels in the IT sector have returned to pre-pandemic levels, according to the latest hiring trends report by IrishJobs. 6% of listings for jobs on the website were for IT professionals. This follows a period of increased hiring during the pandemic.

The report also shows that AI is making itself felt in the job market, with demand for data related roles such as ‘Lead Data Architects’ and ‘Data Security Officers’.

In a separate review of the hiring market in 2023, IrishJobs also noted that tech such as AI and automation is increasingly being used by recruiters to sift and process job applications, as they find it harder to find the right candidates in a competitive market.
