About CyBridge

CyBridge is the ICS Cyber & Security Specialist Interest Group. It exists to close the knowledge gap among cybersecurity practitioners, legal professionals, senior leadership, academia, policymakers, and regulators — building mutual fluency across disciplines so that Irish organisations are technically resilient and legally sound.

Cyber risk is no longer a purely technical problem. It sits at the intersection of law, regulation, organisational governance, and technical practice. Too often, these communities operate in silos — creating blind spots that adversaries exploit. CyBridge exists to change that.

Who CyBridge Is For

CyBridge is open to new and existing ICS members with a professional interest in cybersecurity and information security, including:

• Cybersecurity and information security practitioners
• Legal and compliance professionals
• Senior leaders and board members with security oversight responsibilities
• Academics, researchers and students in cybersecurity and related fields
• Policy makers and government officials
• Regulators and standards bodies

Seven Disciplines, One Community

The CyBridge committee is structured across seven pillars, ensuring every relevant perspective has a seat at the table. We are currently recruiting founding members across all seven areas.

1 — Regulatory and Policy

Engaging with the frameworks and bodies shaping Ireland’s cyber environment, including the NCSC, the Data Protection Commission and EU regulatory developments.

2 — Legal and Cyber Law

Legal practitioners at the intersection of technology, regulation and liability advising organisations on their obligations under NIS2, GDPR, DORA and emerging cyber law.

3 — Practitioner and Technical

Security architects, CISOs and technical teams on the front line of defending Irish organisations. The people who know what the frameworks actually mean in practice.

4 — Academic and Education

Researchers and educators advancing knowledge in cybersecurity, law and risk management, and building the next generation of cross-disciplinary professionals.

5 — Enterprise Leadership

Senior leaders and board members accountable for cyber resilience who need to brief boards, navigate regulatory pressure and translate between technical and business realities.

6 — GRC and Risk

Governance, risk and compliance professionals bridging technical controls and business strategy, including those working within financial services and regulated sectors.

7 — Standards and Frameworks

Professionals working on the standards that underpin secure, compliant organisations including ISO 27001, NIST, DORA technical standards and sector-specific frameworks.

What We Do

CyBridge delivers a programme of activities designed to build cross-disciplinary understanding and professional community:

• Webinars and events — bringing together expert voices from across the cybersecurity landscape
• Working groups — focused on specific intersections of cyber, law, and governance
• Publications and guidance — practical resources for members navigating complex cyber risk environments
• Networking — connecting professionals across disciplines who rarely share a room
• CPD — supporting members in meeting their continuing professional development obligations

CyBridge Committee

CyBridge is governed by a voluntary committee of professionals drawn from across the seven disciplines the SIG serves. The committee is responsible for setting the CyBridge programme, ensuring quality and representing the interests of members to ICS Council.

We are actively recruiting founding committee members across all seven pillars. We are particularly keen to hear from professionals working in legal, academic, and public-sector roles. Committee membership is open to existing and new ICS members.
